If you are spending Christmas in the hospital let’s try and make it a little merrier. Tis the season to be jolly……. but if you’re stuck in bed it can be lonely.
Holly Boyce found out she had cancer during the holidays. Listen here, to read/hear how she found ways to use humor, remain optimistic and make the best of it.
If your feeling in a slump, take some time to practice gratitude. James Altucher shares a fantastic article on this.
Listen to music that makes you feel good each and every day!! Lucia Micarelli was my favorite, her music touches my soul and my fav song is Bohemian Rhapsody in Nocturne. I purchased this one and it has played thousands of times!
Make someone else happy!! You may wonder how in the world you could do this when you are in the hospital, but it is easier than you think. When I was in the hospital I found many people who needed someone to listen to them, a smile or hug. The nursing staff really light up if you thank them for the good things they do, appreciate how hard they work or even remember and address them by their name.
When you make someone else happy, happiness comes back to you.
Call someone you love or write them a letter and tell them how much you miss and love them.
Listen to someone who has had a difficult time and healed. James Altucher really inspired me, I read his blog for hours while I was in the hospital. I had the opportunity to interview John Ramstead, A Christian Business Coach, who was thrown from a horse and nearly died. His journey to heal inspired me to keep trying every day.
You can read/listen to his story here.
**helpful tip** If your hospital does not have wifi, you may wish to increase your data plan while you’re there. My cell phone bill came as a surprise when I realized I went well over my data usage!!
